VHM

 Street furniture.

Lighting design for VHM, a French industrial manufacturer of lighting and street furniture.

Following a design thinking workshop with VHM's design and sales team, we were commissioned to design new street lighting products with striking designs.
The objective: to create short-circuit products "made in France", from design to manufacture.

Three sketches of different lamp designs: Chandelier, Lantern, and Lamps.
Geometric black structure with light, text:
Exterior of a building with arched windows, transitioning from daylight to nighttime.
Architectural sketches: a lantern design, showing its components and final form. White lines on black background.
Diagram of a metal structure, side and top views, with dimensions labeled: 550mm and 570mm.

It all starts with sketches, creative ideas that gradually take shape and become reality. Each form has a story, calls for a narrative...
Then we consider the industrial process to work on the feasibility of the object, combining technique and creativity.

When designing an object, you have to take into account the entire value chain, from conception to use, and not overlook anything. Every detail counts.
Achieving the final result is a complex and rigorous team effort, and once the technical aspects are in place, the object can become a reality and be manufactured on an industrial scale.

To design an object, you must consider the entire value chain, from conception to use, and leave nothing to chance. Every detail counts. Achieving the final result is a complex and rigorous team effort, and when the technique is perfected, it allows the object to become concrete and ready for industrial production.

Designing an object is a delicate task.
There is the relationship with time that the object must face, the subtle work of proportions and finally that of its aesthetics, which will contribute to the interpretation of the urban landscapes in which it will be inserted and live.
It is absolutely fascinating. And rewarding.
